Callicoat Family Remains Committed to Sarcoxie Nursery, Ensuring Patient Access to Quality Medical Marijuana

Dr. Paul Callicoat, a retired cardiologist and principal of Sarcoxie Nursery, released the following statement Friday after being notified Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services had denied his family’s application for a license to manufacture medical marijuana products at the historic landmark in rural southwest Missouri:

“We are disappointed that our application for a medical marijuana manufacturing license was denied, but it is consistent with the flawed scoring process that has been brought into question not only by us, but by others as well. We are extremely proud of the plan that we put forth to revive a historic landmark. We appreciate the outpouring of support that we have received from all across the state and remain focused on proceeding with our pending litigation. This is not a fight we asked for, but we remain dedicated to serving the needs of patients and to establishing a fair, safe and transparent process as promised to voters under Amendment 2.”
