SuperHero MeetUp coming to Kansas City to benefit patients

Industry operators and caregivers will converge in Kansas City for the Missouri CannaRegulations and Compliance Seminar, a premier educational event for this state’s new medical marijuana program. Before getting down to business, Midwest Canna Expos and the Missouri Cannabis Trade Association are sponsoring an event the night before to raise money to directly go to in-need child patients through Ayden’s Alliance.

The Cannabis Industry SuperHero MeetUp will take place from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on June 24 at the Guild KC in downtown Kansas City. Tickets and information are available online.

Expos and MoCannTrade are joined by Clovr Cannabis, Hari Om Hemp, and Sarcoxie Nursery in sponsoring the event, which is offering industry networking, door prizes and raffles, and also CBD infused drinks and light appetizers. No conference pass for the seminar is required to attend – all are welcome to purchase tickets and attend.

More information on both the MeetUp and the seminar is available from Midwest Canna Expos and Facebook events. Karin Chester of Midwest Canna Expos is not only responsible for these events but also produced the successful MoCannBizCon2019. MoCannBizCons are planned for 2020 and 2021. A midwest industrial hemp expo is set for this August.

Ayden Markum, the namesake of Ayden’s Alliance, is part of the inspiration behind Chester’s activism.

“Everyone who meets Ayden, it changes them,” Karin Chester of Midwest Canna Expos said. “When they give him oil and his seizure stops, it changes everything.”

“This will be the first time that we can really raise money for the patients, not a campaign,” Chester said. “This time, the money will go directly to patients to get cards, doctor’s visits, and medicine.”

All proceeds of the SuperHero MeetUp will benefit Ayden’s Alliance.

Ten percent of the proceeds of the seminar will go to Ayden’s Alliance. Another ten percent will go to New Approach Missouri to continue advocacy efforts. The June 25 seminar, sponsored by Clovr Cannabis, will take place at the KCI Expo Center, with first sessions beginning at 9:00 a.m. Seminar tickets and lunch can be purchased ahead of time.

The seminar will focus on the medical marijuana programs recently released rules and regulations. There are different educational tracks at the event, both of which include banking education. The event’s two keynotes are DHSS Medical Marijuana Division Director Lyndall Fraker and Mark Goldfogel, seed-to-sale tracking architect and co-founder of MJ Freeway.

“It’s about the patients and education always,” Chester said.
