STIIIZY issues voluntary recall for Watermelon Z vape products in California
California regulators have published a voluntary recall for multiple STIIIZY vape cartridge and integrated vaporizer products after the products were found to contain pesticide contamination.
The California Department of Cannabis Control published the recall July 2, following a business recall date of June 30. The recall applies to STIIIZY Vape Cartridge and Integrated Vaporizer products manufactured by Ironworks Collective, Inc., under license number DCC-10003246. The DCC identified the recall reason as adulteration due to Pesticide Category II Contamination involving pyrethrins.
Pyrethrins are a class of botanical insecticides derived from chrysanthemum flowers and are used to target a range of pests in agricultural and non-agricultural settings, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The recalled products were distributed to licensed retailers in California, including multiple Alameda County dispensaries listed in the recall notice.
The DCC advised consumers who purchased the recalled products to check the UID and batch number on their packaging. If the numbers match the recalled products, consumers should stop using the product and either return it to the retailer for proper disposal or dispose of it at an approved hazardous waste facility. Cannabis vape cartridges and integrated vaporizers must be disposed of as hazardous waste, according to the DCC.
Consumers experiencing symptoms or adverse reactions after using the recalled products should contact a physician immediately.
The DCC said it sent notices to licensees with the recalled products in their inventory with instructions for responding to the recall. Licensees with questions were directed to contact the department’s recall team at recalls@cannabis.ca.gov.
