DCR announces two product recalls ahead of 4/20 weekend

The Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) announced two separate product recalls today, just days before the 4/20 holiday.

The recallswere issued for products produced by licensees Honey Green, LLC (MAN000044) and 1913 Carrollton Manufacturing LLC (MAN000010), respectively.

According to DCR, products manufactured by Honey Green, LLC were mislabeled and included incorrect product information. “Therefore, DCR cannot verify compliance with health and safety requirements,” the agency said in a public notice. While no adverse reactions have been reported at this time, patients and consumers who purchased the affected products are advised to stop using them immediately. Unused items may be returned to the dispensary where they were purchased and will not count toward a patient’s purchase limit.

A separate recall was issued for products manufactured by 1913 Carrollton Manufacturing LLC due to packaging that resembled non-marijuana products and deviated from what was previously approved by DCR. Missouri regulations prohibit marijuana product packaging from mimicking non-cannabis items in order to prevent inadvertent consumption, especially by children. As with the Honey Green recall, no adverse effects have been reported, and unused products can be returned to the point of purchase.

Under Missouri law, DCR has the authority to issue recalls under 19 CSR 100-1.100(4)(P) when products present a potential threat to health or safety. A full list of recalled products is available on the DCR recalls page.

MAN000010, 1913 Carrollton Manufacturing LLC

“DCR is issuing a product recall on marijuana products sold to dispensary licensees by manufacturing licensee, 1913 Carrollton Manufacturing LLC, MAN000010. The recalled marijuana product packaging and design resembles non-marijuana products. To protect children and prohibit inadvertent consumption of marijuana products, Department rules prohibit marijuana products from resembling non-marijuana products. Additionally, the marijuana product packaging is not the same packaging that was submitted and approved by DCR.”

MAN000044, Honey Green, LLC

“DCR is issuing a product recall on marijuana products sold to dispensary licensees by manufacturing licensee, Honey Green, LLC, MAN000044. The recalled marijuana products were inadvertently labeled with the incorrect product information. Therefore, DCR cannot verify compliance with health and safety requirements.”
