Willie Nelson hosts virtual cannabis community rally today in support of Kamala Harris
Today, October 24, 2024, Willie Nelson will host a Cannabis Community for Kamala virtual rally at 7 p.m. EST, supporting Vice President Kamala Harris and her commitment to federal cannabis legalization. Sponsored by major figures in the cannabis industry, the rally will focus on cannabis reform, social justice, economic opportunity, and ending federal prohibition.
Nelson, a 15-time Grammy winner and dedicated cannabis advocate, is hosting the event from his Luck Ranch in Texas. “Cannabis is a path to healing, opportunity, and justice, and supporting leaders like Kamala Harris who understand that is crucial to putting an end to the federal prohibition and undoing the harms it caused to so many, particularly to communities of color where it has been disproportionately enforced,” Nelson said in a statement.
The virtual rally will feature an impressive panel, including actress and advocate Whoopi Goldberg, country stars Brittney Spencer and Margo Price, attorney Dahr Jamail, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, and U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen. Together, they will engage in discussions about the need for federal cannabis reform and the broader implications for social justice and economic growth.
Vice President Harris has been a strong supporter of cannabis reform, stating, “It’s time to legalize it.” As Election Day nears, the event aims to rally support for Harris’ candidacy and her progressive stance on cannabis policy.
The event is free and open to the public, with registration available online. Attendees can RSVP through Zoom here, with the rally starting at 7 p.m. EST.
With less than three weeks to go before the election, this rally highlights the growing significance of cannabis reform and how Harris’ leadership could shape the future of federal cannabis policy in the United States.
