Missouri marijuana monthly sales grew nearly 20% in April

UPDATE: On June 3 the Department of Health and Senior Services released updated sales data for April. That data shows a significant difference in cumulative and monthly sales for the month. April sales data has been updated from $335.80 million, or $36.76 for the month, to $331.19, or $32.15 in monthly retail sales. The corresponding growth was not 19.7 %, but was 4.69%.

Missouri’s $36.76 million in medical marijuana sales at dispensaries in April sets a new sales record

Retail sales of medical marijuana jumped 15% from February to March, setting a new sales record and topping the $30 million monthly revenue milestone for the first time.

Propelled by a strong performance on 4/20, Missouri sales rocketed forward again, rising 19.70% over March’s record-setting sales.

Through April, Missouri dispensaries have sold more than $120 million dollars in 2022. 

Cumulative sales for the program now sit at $335.80 million since the program’s first retail sales in October 2020. 

   

In Q1 of 2022, Missouri registered $83.96 million in retail sales. While both January and February sales numbers were similar, sales totals have boomed nearly 35% when comparing February sales totals to April.

BDSA’s recently released Market Forecast estimates that full-year 2022 sales will reach a total of ~$360 million in Missouri. Missouri has averaged $30.18 million in monthly medical marijuana sales since the beginning of the year, which positions the state to exceed the $360 million projection.

Additionally, Legal Missouri 2022 recently announced that the campaign had collected more than 325,000 signatures in the push to place adult-use marijuana on the ballot for Missouri voters. Sunday marks the deadline for the campaign to submit signatures for verification.
