Industry leader Larry Ellison passes

Longtime southwest Missouri accountant, industry leader Larry Ellison passed away Wednesday, December 2.

Ellison served as a board member of MoCannTrade since 2018. He served on the board of directors and as committee chair for the Transportation, Security + Technology committee.

Ellison began his career in 1968 after completing his Master’s in Accountancy. As a CPA, he worked in public accounting and consulting for over 40 years. Most recently, he served as director and CFO of USA operations of Agrios Global Holdings Ltd, an international publicly traded (CSE) company concentrating in building and servicing state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation, processing, and retail facilities around the world. Agrios is also involved with a hemp joint-venture in China.

Ellison was a member of the state executive board for New Approach Missouri.

“The real purpose is to help people with their quality of life,” he told the Springfield Business Journal in October 2018. “It will not cure cancer. It will not cure other diseases, but it sure lets people enjoy a much better quality of life.”

The Springfield accountant was married for over 50 years with 2 children and five grandchildren.

Ellison’s son, Kevin, is president of CST Solutions, a licensed transportation company. His daughter, Kimberli Andrews, is the general manager of Ozarx Botanicals, a licensed Springfield dispensary.

“This is a huge loss for both MoCannTrade and the entire Missouri industry,” said Andrew Mullins, executive director of MoCannTrade. “Larry Ellison was instrumental in ensuring MoCannTrade represented fairness, professionalism, and all voices and groups whether big or small.  He was a great leader and ambassador for our industry and created an Ellison legacy that will continue to have a positive impact for years to come.”
