Annual Missouri, national NORML virtual conferences ahead

 

The annual Missouri NORML conference is set to take place virtually Saturday, October 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

2020 marks the 50th anniversary of NORML – the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws – and NORML founder Keith Stroup will be the conference keynote.

Additionally, NPR and PBS travel host Rick Steves has been added to the agenda, joining several state officials. Steves is a member of NORML’s national board. The agenda includes speakers from the state, including DHSS Patient Services Director Erica Ziegler, State Representatives Kip Kendrick (D-Columbia) and Shamed Dogan (R-Ballwin), and state Senator Caleb Rowden (R-Columbia).

Missouri NORML President Dan Viets shared each MO NORML Chapter is represented in the Drafting Committee of Missourians for a New Approach, whose Advisory Board he chairs. They are working to put adult-use and cultivation on the November 2022 ballot.

Following the 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. live-streamed conference, the organization is hosting an auction to raise funds for charity.

Additionally, the national NORML annual conference is upcoming on October 22-23, also in digital format, presented as a streamed event from 12:00-5:00 p.m. on both days.

NORML is excited to partner with Green Flower Media to bring this virtual pay-what-you-can event. They hope the ease of access of tuning in from wherever attendees are on your laptop or phone will encourage and enable more attendees to join and learn about the national effort to fight for marijuana law reform at the state, federal, and local levels.
