In light of the pandemic, MoCannTrade extends active memberships

MoCannTrade, the industry trade association, announced to members Wednesday via email that members active as of February 2020 will have their membership complimentarily extended while the state and industry weather this dynamic climate.

“As a member-driven association, we’ve heard from many of you about how the outbreak has created challenges and new variables with regard to business planning,” reads the email. “Though the state’s medical cannabis program moves forward, we know changing public health policies and financial fallout are affecting service provider and licensed member businesses.”

Considering this unprecedented disruption to business as usual, the organization also shared important policy changes the board (featured photo, provided) recently approved.

  • Membership
    • For members active as of February 1st, 2020, we are providing a complimentary membership extension through July 15th, 2020. For members already renewed and paid past July 15th, 2020, we’ll add three free months to your membership term. Regardless of which situation may apply to you, your membership will be active until at least July 15 so you don’t have to worry about fees or dues collection over the next few months, allowing our members to better focus on standing up their businesses.
    • Additionally, conditionally approved facility license holders who are not yet MoCannTrade members can register for a short-term, no-cost membership that will also remain in effect through July 15th. An email link for complimentary membership will be provided directly to non-members by April 2nd.
    • We believe this effort helps to unify and strengthen our industry voice and shows our desire to advocate on the needs of the entire industry.
  • Now Recruiting for Open Board and Committee Positions
    • As our industry evolves, so does our desire to recruit and represent voices and expertise from all corners of Missouri. MoCannTrade is launching our board and committee nomination opportunity to Platinum members and all Licensed Facility Members. This includes open positions on our Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and industry-facing committees. The nomination window is open from now until Friday, April 24th with the goal of having open board and committee roles filled by June 1st.
