State makes changes to Confirmation of License Emergency Rule

When the state recently announced that applicants would be required to confirm and accept their licenses within 48 hours of being awarded the announcement was met with the typical mixed attitude of any state licensing announcements in recent months.

While some were excited to have a rule requiring a quick turn around, there was a vocal majority who expressed a need for more time.

With the publication of the finalized emergency rule by the Secretary of State’s office, the state confirms that the concerns of the industry and applicants did not fall on deaf ears.

With the updated language in the emergency rules, applicants will now have 5 days to respond to their award notification to confirm and accept licensing.

(1) Confirmation and Acceptance of License/Certification. All facilities that are issued a license or certification will be given five (5) days from department notification of issuance to confirm they accept the license or certification. Notification shall be made via the email address and phone number of the applicant’s designated primary con tact and will include the deadline for accepting. If a facility does not affirmatively accept issuance of a license or certification within the five (5) days following notification, the license or certification will be offered to the next ranked facility, as applicable, until all available licenses and certifications are issued and accepted.
