Missouri medical marijuana officials to make announcement next week

DHSS and Medical Marijuana Division officials confirmed the application review and rejection period has been completed, with all applications submitted being sent to scorers.

The department also advised that it will communicate publicly during the first week of December regarding license award information.

It is expected that this announcement will be a timeline of license announcement dates.

According to Article XIV, the Department, for cultivation, manufacturing, dispensary, and testing facilities, must approve or deny applications within one hundred fifty (150) days of an application’s submission. With a filing period between August 3 and August 19, that plants the official end date as far out as January 16, with the bulk of applications filed over the final two days of the application period.

MoCannTrade has asked for the Department’s timely attention knowing that many members may have expiring leases, letters of intent, etc. at the end of December.

According to an emergency rule issued on October 29, 19 CSR 30-95.028 Additional Licensing Procedures, facilities receiving a license must confirm and accept within 48 hours of notification of award.

(1) Confirmation and Acceptance of License/Certification. All facilities that are issued a license or certification will be given forty-eight (48) hours from department notification of issuance to confirm they accept the license or certification. If a facility does not affirmatively accept issuance of a license or certification, the license or certification will be offered to the next ranked facility, as applicable, until all available licenses and certifications are issued and accepted.”

While review and rejection are complete, grading and scoring continue.
