New Natural Lifestyle Store Opens, Offering Retail and Cannabis Consultation
The Natural Journey in Ellisville’s Appletree Square opened last week, offering a guide to customers into natural remedies and lifestyle.
Offering everything from CBD and CBD infusions to natural lifestyle accessories and hemp products, Natural Journey’s owner, Marcella Povis hopes the store will help “educate and empower” customers “on their natural journey to health and happiness.”
“Everyone deserves to be empowered for who and what they are,” Povis, longtime natural wellness and lifestyle consultant, said.
Beyond retail, the Natural Journey will offer consultation services for everything from CBD to healthy living to medical cannabis. The shop is not a dispensary, nor did they apply to be one, but they do have a Budtender, for lack of a better title, on staff to help people through their medical marijuana journey by providing insight into everything from strains to cultivation to additional plant-based remedies.
“You can come to my store and get your medical cannabis card for consumption or cultivation,” Povis said. “We have a doctor in place. I will walk you through the whole process and you can apply for your card.”
Povis takes it a step further, with a staff in place to assist patients as they start their medical marijuana journey.
“He will be able to tell you what strains are worth exploring for different conditions,” Povis said. She said she wants to help patients who are new and they want to get their card. Povis and her budtender, Tommy, will help patients apply for their card post-certification from a physician and chart out their next steps. “Tommy’s experience and his knowledge base will help guide people to where they want and need to be.”
Povis recently spoke at the statewide NORML conference in St. Louis, where she gave a talk on dosage and delivery, talking about the therapeutic effects of medical cannabis.
“You should start at 1mg and go from there until you achieve your goals,” Povis said. “It’s not the same for every person. Your bio footprint is totally different. This is your journey and I’ll guide you and help you – you’re not alone.”
Povis and the Natural Journey’s mission goes beyond natural medicine. The store offers essential oils, crystals, EMF protection, and natural clothing and accessories.
“It’s basically my passion,” Povis said. I want to help people if they’re in pain or whatever their situation is. If they’re searching, I want to be the place they go to give them options. I want to be the first person they come into contact with when they want to live more naturally.”
Povis’ faith is a leading factor in what guides her inspiration for a natural lifestyle.
“God put all this stuff on this earth,” Povis said. “My dad told me one time that He created man to do a thing for man. We all are put on earth because we have a certain path and journey to share. The person who realized that there were benefits, they were writing that down and that is very meaningful. It’s God-given. They’re from the earth. God created the earth and everything on it, especially all these natural offerings.”
Povis said her store is one where customers can feel comfortable in a formal environment.
“Everyone needs to feel comfortable and open to the conversation,” Povis said.
Povis will also be offering her a personally designed line of hemp clothing, which will feature messages of empowerment to resonate with wearers.
The Natural Journey held a soft opening for Povis’ birthday in late October and held its grand opening on November 1.
Povis will be a regular contributor for Greenway for Patients, where she hopes to provide content that will help readers along their natural journeys.
