November Showcase to feature speakers, gala, industry educational events

The Cannabis Industry Showcase is set for November 20-22 at The Oliver in Kansas City’s West Bottoms.

The Showcase, organized by Curtis Stafford and Wendy Turner, is one that Turner hopes leaves attendees of the conference thinking, “I did not know that!” and “I’m so glad I came.”

“A chance to really understand the industry,” Turner said. “To talk one on one to people that are in it already, from cultivators, HVAC and soil experts to compliance, regulation and insurance experts. We have it all. And inspirational patient stories as well, to remind you why your getting into this industry!”

Speakers will include Ricardo Baca of Grasslands, Nikki Furrer of Fleur, Andrew Mullins of MoCannTrade, Michael Correia of NCIA, Todd Scattini of Harvest 360, Jessica Velazquez of India, Shawn Honaker of Yeti Farms, and many more.

The current schedule has the expo opening reception on November 20 at 6:30, followed by two days, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. of exhibition, speakers, and sessions. The End of Reefer Madness Gala for The Coltyn Turner Foundation will take place from 6:30 PM to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, kicking off the Showcase. More gala details will be released soon.

“Curtis and I both have interesting reasons why we’re involved in the cannabis community and industry, Cannabis is part of our lives,” Turner said. “It’s ingrained in our souls. We really believe that this industry can improve the quality of life in patients and bring the economy up. It’s a win-win for everyone that’s involved. We really wanted to showcase the cannabis community and industry and what it can be. The ups and downs and an emerging industry.”

Turner and Stafford have planned numerous events. Stafford was on the event planning team for NCIA, while Turner helped create Sensi Nights for Sensi Magazine.

“Curtis is from KC, he had access to an amazing event space, it was kind of a no brainer to do this event in KC,” Turner said. “The stars were definitely aligned. ”

She recommends attendees bring a notebook or recording device to take down some of the massive amounts of information.

The event will be followed by up by the Cannabis Community College from November 23-25. There will also be a Trichome Institute Interpening Class on November 23.

This will be the first Cannabis Industry Showcase – and one that may become a regular event.
