Apps and more help patients navigate the industry

Whether you are trying to find a dispensary for your medical needs here in Missouri, or you are participating in Cannabis tourism in a recreational state – finding the right dispensary for you is absolutely essential in having a pleasant and fulfilling experience. The overall design and layout of dispensaries vary vastly so establishing a purpose and a plan will better lead you to a successful visit. Below is a quick guide to finding the perfect dispensary:

Step 1: Establish what you are looking for in a dispensary

Are you looking for a good deal or are you focused on quality? Are you looking for flower, edibles, wax, cartridges or topicals? Are you looking to get in and out fast, or more leisurely browse?  Asking oneself these types of questions, and trying to get an idea of your overall goal, will help filter what dispensary is best for you. If you are a newbie to the scene, a dispensary rated with excellent education and customer service would be more ideal for you.

Step 2: Download Weedmaps, Leafly, or Missouri-made Show Me Canna

Weedmaps and Leafly have been industry leaders when it comes to resources for reviews, dispensaries, strain information and more, but Missouri’s patients are lucky to have our own Missouri specific guide as well – Show Me Canna, which is now available for download on Android and Apple.

Show Me Canna was designed for Missourians, by Missourians.

Show Me Canna is powered and created by Intuitive Cannabis Industries (ICI), a cannabis marketing company located in St. Louis, MO. Since the passing of Amendment 2, ICI has held or been a part of over a dozen free events to educate Missourians on all aspects of medical cannabis.

“Most people are familiar with WeedMaps. We wanted Show Me Canna to be so much more. Not just a listing of dispensaries, but a tool to find every cannabis-friendly business in the state: CBD, Vape, Garden Shops; they are all on there. Cannabis-friendly restaurant and bar owners have started reaching out wanting to list their businesses as well,” says Louis Moynihan, Chief Operations Officer for Intuitive Cannabis Industries.

Missourians can find employment opportunities, connect with a caregiver, explore events around the entire state, check out original photos, videos, and podcasts which are updated often. And for anyone trying to break into the cannabis industry, there is an excellent “Industry Resources” section that will save Missourians thousands of dollars by not having to join any organizations to access the valuable resources for cannabis entrepreneurs.

“Whether you need a new vape pen, want to see what dispensaries are hiring, or just want to watch a video on how to grow your own cannabis, it’s all in one spot. We just wanted to make this industry accessible to all Missourians who qualify,” said Chris O’Keefe, Chief Executive Officer for Intuitive Cannabis Industries.

Step 3: Read reviews, browse menus and deals

On these apps, reviewers can rate the experience they have with budtenders, the quality of cannabis obtained, the overall design on the dispensary, and more! Also, take advantage of the educational material and resources. The more informed your decision is, the happier you will be. In addition, by browsing menus you can get an idea of what type of strains and what kind of prices a dispensary has. Most dispensaries do daily deals, so you can choose a dispensary depending on the deal they are offering in alliance with the product you are looking for.

Step 4: Ask questions

Once you have chosen a dispensary, consciously consume by asking questions and getting more information. The budtenders are there to guide you and help you. Continue to improve the community by reviewing after your experience. Don’t give up. Medical Cannabis can affect every person differently depending on the dose and the strain, consult with your doctors and your budtenders to find the perfect fit for you.
