Smoke DZA to headline 420 weekend show at Atomic Pavilion in St. Louis

St. Louis is set to get an early start on 4/20 weekend as Smoke DZA headlines a Saturday night show at Atomic Pavilion on April 18.

The Harlem rapper, widely associated with cannabis culture and known to many fans as “The Kushedgod,” is scheduled to top a community-driven bill organized by Party People and J;P Ent. at the Manchester Avenue venue. The event is being promoted as a 21-and-up show, with doors at 6 p.m. and music beginning at 7 p.m.

For hip-hop fans, Smoke DZA remains one of the more recognizable names to emerge from the blog-era wave, building a catalog that includes Rolling Stoned, the Pete Rock collaboration Don’t Smoke Rock, and more recent collaborative work like Full Court Press with Wiz Khalifa, Big K.R.I.T. and Girl Talk. His long-running association with cannabis culture has helped make him a natural fit for a 4/20 weekend event built around hip-hop, community and elevation.

His appearance gives the St. Louis show a national anchor, while the rest of the lineup keeps the event rooted in local talent.

The April 18 bill also features ReaceYung, Serroge & AD 1111 of Black Men Build, Quali-T & J Pizzlé, G.A. Barz, PT Da Double G, Santone, and Sol Asar. Music throughout the evening will also feature Soopaman DJ Speed and DJ OBJuan, with live art from Dormir.

Organizers say the event is intended to bridge herb culture, urban music, and community as 420 weekend gets underway in St. Louis. Support from members of F.R.E.S.H. STL Hip Hop, described by organizers as the city’s longest-running underground hip-hop night, adds another local layer to the show’s identity.

Attendees can also expect sponsor-backed giveaways during the night, including infused sodas and flower through So Ganja, according to event materials.

Advance tickets are listed at $25, with day-of-show admission set at $30.
