Missouri’s Division of Cannabis Regulation issues third product recall in August

As the bulk of staff of both operations and regulating agencies left for the long weekend, The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) announced a mandatory recall for marijuana products sold by Blue Sky Health & Wellness, LLC.

This recall, the third in August, encompasses thousands of products already on hold, produced by dozens of brands, following concerns about the tracking of source material from Blue Sky Health & Wellness, LLC used in production.

DCR stated that the recalled products were not properly tracked in Missouri’s Metrc system, which is required under state law. The lack of compliant tracking means DCR cannot verify whether these products meet the necessary regulations, according to the release from regulators.

This is the second major recall in August citing the same issue.

On August 8, 2024, DCR issued a similar recall for products from C & C Manufacturing LLC, MAN000105, due to non-compliance with Missouri’s Metrc tracking system.

In both instances, the bulk of products marked for recall were in final product form, meaning they had been through state required testing and no adverse reactions or health risks were reported to the Division.

Unused products can be returned to the dispensary where they were purchased, and returns will not count against a patient’s purchase limit.
