Proper Brands Brings Back “Wallflower” Poster Project Benefiting Last Prisoner Project & NAMI

Proper Brands announces its second annual “Wallflower” poster exhibition at Work & Leisure on April 12, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This event is a collaboration between Proper Brands’ charitable arm, the New Growth Horizon Foundation, and Friends For Good. Art inspired by Proper Cannabis’ award-winning genetics library, as well as its Honeybee Edibles brand will be on display and available for sale online. The exhibition will feature over 35 St. Louis-based artists. All proceeds of poster sales will go to The Last Prisoner Project and NAMI St. Louis.

“We want to set the bar for cannabis companies to help not only our patients and customers, but the communities we’re part of. The New Growth Horizon Foundation has five main areas of giving: Mental Health & Qualifying Conditions for Medical Marijuana, Criminal Justice & Re-Entry, Education and Employment, Homelessness & Housing, and the Betterment of Missouri,” says CEO and co-founder John Pennington.

“We’ve donated to The Last Prisoner Project in the past, but last year’s Wallflower was the first time we held an event specifically benefitting them. Their work focusing on criminal justice and drug policy reform in the cannabis space is unmatched.”

“NAMI St. Louis is another group that we have donated to previously, but we’ve never had the opportunity to host an event that benefits them. Their advocacy work for individuals who have mental illness is inspiring, and we’re looking forward to continuing to support their cause,” continued Pennington.

Proper Brands has collaborated with Friends For Good, which “brings together groups of creative people to create large-scale collaborative projects that celebrate companies doing good for people and the planet.” Friends For Good’s co-founders, David Rygiol and James Walker, have produced similar charitable art events before under Type Hike and Local Lands.

Tickets for Wallflower go on sale today on GiveButter. All ticket proceeds will be donated.
