KC dispensaries targeted in string of burglaries

Authorities are investingating a string of burglaries targeting cannabis businesses in Kansas City.

Three dispensaries, From the Earth, Terrabis, and Greenlight have been targeted since January 20.

The first burglary at the 6200 Troost location of From The Earth occurred after closing on January 20.

The next day the Greenlight location at 4900 Bannister Rd was broken into, again after closing.

   

A spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department said that one suspect has been identified  in both of those burglaries.

Last week, Terrabis became the third Kansas City dispensary to be targeted.

Authorities are limiting the release of information as the investigation continues.

Late last month Missouri operators received an email from Section for Medical Marijuana Regulation Facility License and Compliance Director, Andrea Balkenbush, urging diligence and asking operators to consider additional security measures and ensuring operation of  implemented security measures.
