Missouri marijuana product recall issued over undisclosed colorings
The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR), in collaboration with Noah’s Arc Foundation MAN97, LLC, MAN000097, has announced a voluntary recall of specific marijuana products due to undisclosed food coloring ingredients. The recall adheres to Missouri’s cannabis regulations which allow the DCR to issue a recall when a product poses a potential health threat, as outlined under 19 CSR 100-1.100(4)(P).
It was discovered that the affected marijuana products sold to various dispensary licensees did not list food coloring on the compliance labels, a requirement under 19 CSR 100-1.120(1)(C)2.A. This oversight could pose health risks, prompting the DCR to take immediate action to ensure consumer safety. The release from DCR states that adverse reactions have been reported.
For a detailed list of the affected products, consumers can visit the Missouri Department of Health’s official cannabis safety page at DCR Recalls.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are advised to immediately discontinue use.
DCR recommends disposing of or returning any unused products to the dispensary where they were purchased. Notably, returned products will not count towards a patient’s monthly purchase limit, alleviating any additional concern for patients who need to exchange or return their purchases.
Anyone who thinks that they may be experiencing adverse reactions should seek immediate medical attention. Patients and consumers are reminded that any adverse reactions should be reported to CannabisComplaints@health.mo.gov or fill out a complaint form located here.
This is the fifth recall issued for marijuana products in Missouri in 2024.
