Connecticut cannabis sales reach $24.25 million in April

April posts strongest daily sales average of 2026 so far as year-to-date sales outpace 2025

Connecticut adult-use and medical cannabis retail sales totaled $24.25 million in April 2026, the second-highest monthly total of the year so far and the strongest month of 2026 on a daily sales average basis.

April sales averaged $808,201.54 per day.

That was higher than January’s daily average of $789,970.35, February’s daily average of $800,055.42, and March’s daily average of $778,176.44.

January remains the highest monthly total of 2026 so far at $24.49 million, followed by April at $24.25 million, March at $24.12 million, and February at $22.40 million. But April’s 30-day calendar made its daily sales pace the strongest of the first four months.

Connecticut’s April 2026 sales included $18.73 million in adult-use cannabis sales and $5.52 million in medical marijuana sales. Adult-use sales accounted for 77.25% of the April total, while medical marijuana sales accounted for 22.75%.

April also outpaced the same month in recent years.

Connecticut reported $23.80 million in total cannabis retail sales in April 2025, $23.96 million in April 2024, and $21.63 million in April 2023.

Compared to April 2025, Sales increased by $447,901.28, or 1.88% in 2026.

April’s year-over-year growth has been driven by adult-use sales.

Adult-use sales increased from $17.50 million in April 2025 to $18.73 million in April 2026, an increase of $1.23 million, or 7.06%.  At the same time medical marijuana sales declined from $6.30 million in April 2025 to $5.52 million in April 2026, a decrease of $786,673.69, or 12.48%.

The same pattern appears in the year-to-date data.

Through April 30, Connecticut reported $95.26 million in total adult-use and medical cannabis retail sales. That was up from $93.75 million during the same period in 2025, an increase of 1.61%.

Through April 2026, Connecticut averaged $793,834.57 in cannabis retail sales per day. During the same period in 2025, the state averaged $781,290.50 per day. On a daily sales basis, 2026 is running $12,544.07 per day ahead of 2025.

The year-to-date comparison shows Connecticut ahead of 2025, but still slightly behind the pace reported in 2024. Through April 2024, the state reported $97.30 million in total cannabis retail sales. Because 2024 was a leap year, the January-April period included 121 days, compared to 120 days in 2025 and 2026.

On a raw sales basis, Connecticut’s 2026 total through April was down $2.04 million, or 2.09%, from the same period in 2024. On a daily sales average basis, 2026 was down 1.28% from 2024.

Adult-use sales continue to account for a larger share of Connecticut’s cannabis market. Through April 2026, adult-use sales totaled $73.47 million, while medical marijuana sales totaled $21.79 million. Adult-use sales accounted for 77.13% of all cannabis retail sales through April, while medical marijuana sales accounted for 22.87%.

Compared to the first four months of 2025, adult-use sales increased by $4.82 million, or 7.02%. Medical marijuana sales declined by $3.32 million, or 13.21%.

Connecticut also sold more cannabis products through April 2026 while average product pricing continued to decline. Retailers sold 3.13 million total cannabis products through April 2026, up from 2.67 million during the same period in 2025. That represents an increase of 462,810 products, or 17.36%.

At the same time, the average product price fell from $35.17 through April 2025 to $30.45 through April 2026. That was a decrease of $4.72, or 13.43%.

April followed that same trend. Connecticut retailers sold 835,304 cannabis products in April 2026, up from 699,616 products in April 2025. The average product price in April 2026 was $29.03, compared to $34.02 in April 2025.
