New wave of holds hit marijuana product in Missouri dispensaries

Today, the Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) has placed several cannabis products from multiple different companies under administrative hold, as part of an ongoing investigation.

According to a notice sent to Missouri licensees, packages in Metrc have been restricted from distribution or transfer.

This is the latest in a litany of holds and recalls that have battered the Missouri cannabis industry this summer.

Businesses across the state were instructed to segregate affected products.

While details of the investigation have not yet been released, businesses are expected to comply with these measures until further notice.

DCR has not responded to inquiries about the status of the hold or the total number of products impacted.

Information obtained by Greenway shows a range of products from flower and prerolls to edibles and extracts.

Historically, DCR does not elaborate on holds themselves, citing a policy of not commenting on current investigations.

For operators, licensees, and consumers, one bright spot in the news today is that the current list of products is substantially less than those of previous holds this year.
