MoCann Testing adds Vitamin E Acetate to ISO 17025 Certification

MoCann Testing is pleased to announce being accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in Chemical Field of Testing/Cannabis Testing. MoCann Testing, based in St. Louis, Missouri is the first cannabis testing laboratory accredited to ISO 17025 Standards for Vitamin E acetate testing in the state of Missouri.

“As exciting as it was to be the first testing laboratory approved to operate in Missouri, we are just as thrilled to be the first laboratory to add Vitamin E Acetate testing to our scope. Our mission has always been to help individuals across the state ensure they have access to safe marijuana through accurate sample testing and quality results, and, with the addition of this test, we are putting that into action,” said Natalie Brown, Director of Operations at MoCann Testing. “Thank You PJLA!”

“The team worked diligently to develop and validate a test method for all the required matrices under the new state rule. This also includes passing proficiency test, which is an external quality and accuracy assessment by a thirdparty vendor. Although the state has extended the timeframe for Vitamin E acetate testing requirements, we are committed to Missourians’ health and safety and are ready to start testing. The new rule will be implemented at the end of February, but now is the time to submit samples for research and development purposes to be certain you are purchasing safe and compliant material prior to implementation,” said Jacob Long, Laboratory Director at MoCann Testing.

PJLA Statement: Congratulations to MO Cann Testing for this achievement! Obtaining ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation requires laboratories to meet specific method validation requirements to ensure methods are put in place for the intended use. This includes rigorous processes such as: calibration or evaluation of bias and precision using reference standards or material, systematic assessments, test method robustness, result comparisons, inter lab comparisons and evaluation of measurement uncertainty. Specific procedures, training, and verification schedules are also performed and established. Performing the above criteria is critical to validating a method and to the cannabis testing industry.

About MoCann Testing:
Missouri Cannabis Testing, a Division of EKG Labs, was founded in 2013 by Jennifer Eagan, Allen Kesselring, and Katie Grayson. The founders have spent the majority of their careers working within contract research laboratories focused on combination product, medical device, and pharmaceutical development. A little over 10 years ago, the opportunity arose for Eagan, Kesselring, and Grayson to leverage their experience and history together to create a new business endeavor. Drawing on their collective 50+ years of experience working with DEA controlled substances (including CBD, THC, general cannabinoids and their metabolites), the team decided to utilize their knowledge in pharmaceutical science and passion for cannabis to form the medicinal marijuana division, MoCann Testing. Their mission is to help individuals across the state ensure they have access to safe marijuana through accurate sample testing and quality results.
