Cannabis community flocks to Green Light event

Cannabis community flocks to Green Light event

Businesses and potential patients from across the state traveled to Bates County to meet in person, hear from community experts, and learn – all in anticipation of the first legal medicinal cannabis crops ahead.

Some attendees were looking to learn about cultivating their own personal use crops or becoming a caregiver for others.

Some came to learn more about the medicinal properties of a plant they are already familiar with, while others came in efforts to quench their thirst for knowledge and look past decades of misinformation and social stigma in efforts to become educated about what lies on Missouri’s horizon. Presenters included the Cannavangelist, George E. Biswell, MOGreens Wellness, and Lonnie Kessler, among many others.

Familiar industry names including Hari Om Hemp, Red Tractor, the Green Clinics, Fresh Green, Agonist Cannabis Co., and Home Grow Solutions were all visible and active.

Crowds fluctuated throughout the day, but the event was successful across the board as patients were able to get certified, Ayden’s Alliance was able to assist families, and speakers were engaged by attentive crowds.

“For a rural area, I didn’t expect a big turnout, but there were a lot of people from the community,” Lonnie Kessler told Greenway, “there was a great sense of community, and I’m glad that I was able to take part.”
