Ones to Watch 2020: Abrahama Keys

The inaugural Greenway Ones to Watch class were nominated by their peers as those will be some of the most responsible for setting the tone of Missouri’s newest industry. From activists to consultants to operators themselves, the following industry influencers are responsible for determining not only how the industry overcomes the obstacles of 2020, but how the industry will be better for it. The same questions were asked of all; submitted answers and related information edited for grammar and clarity.

Why cannabis?

I chose cannabis because it is something I’m passionate about. Cannabis has tons of real life benefits that I think people should explore. It literally helps people of all ages and races and backgrounds and brings people together in a way I think very few other things do.

What is your vision of the industry in Missouri?

My vision is an industry that’s really connected to the community and a reflection of it from their products, outreach, ownership, and more. I’m excited about the development of a Missouri program and community where people are embracing all that the Medical program has to offer from dispensaries, to really growing at home and all the ancillary programs that other states have seen. The number of patients alone since the program started really shows the need and potential for the program in the long run.

What opportunity/opportunities does the industry create in Missouri?

The industry creates a really diverse spread of opportunity  for patients and people in business as well. I think that right now just the legal protection that a medical card provides for anyone consuming is major. And with the legislation being adapted in places like Kansas City where fines are being eliminated the stigma is being reduced which opens people minds and increases access.

What is one thing you wish all Missourians knew about cannabis?

I wish people knew that there is absolutely nothing wrong with cannabis use.  At one of my events I met a lady who had never tried anything CBD or THC related because she said she just never knew anywhere she could go that she could learn about it before trying and she just was overall nervous about the process and use. She suffered from migraines and her husband had a herniated disc and chronic pain. I thought that was pretty amazing. She actually went home with some CBD infused products that day. I cant imagine how many other people there are out there who aren’t trying because they just aren’t educated.
