Video: What are trichomes?

Trichomes are the soldiers that sit on the surface of the plant. They are glandular structures shaped like tiny mushrooms that help to protect the plant from pests, pathogens, and predators and they contain many of the compounds we love such as cannabinoids and terpenes.

Therefore, make sure to not degrade them when handling the plant! The oils on our hands can break down trichomes so it’s important to grab the bud by the stem to preserve these tiny soldiers and all of the compounds they contain.
