Missouri’s Own THC-infused BBQ seasoning hits dispensary shelves

Missouri’s Own, the award-winning brand known for celebrating the flavors of the Show-Me State, is adding a new twist to tailgate season with the launch of Missouri’s first THC-infused BBQ seasoning.

The seasoning, which will be available beginning September 26 at dispensaries across the state, combines bold, smoky barbecue flavor with a precisely dosed cannabis infusion. Each jar contains 110 milligrams of THC and is designed to be shared among friends during game-day gatherings or backyard cookouts.

Unlike traditional rubs, this product was developed as a seasoning to be added after cooking rather than during high-heat grilling or smoking. Because THC begins to degrade at high temperatures, Missouri’s Own crafted the blend to complement low-temperature smoked BBQ—below 300 degrees—or to be used as a finishing seasoning.

“We are always working to invent new products that bring something exciting to Missouri cannabis customers,” said Boston Dickerson, CEO of Show-Me Organics, the company behind Missouri’s Own as well as Vivid, Buoyant Bob, and Blue Sage dispensaries.

The brand has a history of unique collaborations that highlight local flavors, including THC-infused Red Hot Riplets created with Old Vienna and coffee pods with Springfield’s The Coffee Ethic. Those products were eventually removed from shelves after regulators enacted what became known as “The Riplet Rule,” barring infused products that closely mirror non-infused items available outside dispensaries.

“Innovation is at the heart of Show-Me Organics, just as barbecue is at the heart of Missouri culture and tailgating is at the heart of football,” Dickerson said.

The new seasoning was developed in collaboration with Kansas City’s Rufus Teague, though it will be sold solely under the Missouri’s Own name in alignment with state regulations. Each jar carries a suggested retail price of $19.99 and will be available at dispensaries including Blue Sage, Greenlight, NatureMed, Easy Mountain, and Verts.

“These products help to break stigmas around cannabis by integrating the plant into everyday activities,” said Montana Dickerson, Chief Science Officer at Show-Me Organics. “We know people are drinking less, and this offers consumers a fun way to enjoy a tailgate without alcohol.”
