Shangri-La launches Project Paradise nationwide community initiative
Shangri-La Dispensaries today launched Project Paradise, a company-wide volunteer initiative designed to foster meaningful service and social responsibility, and give back to the local communities where its professionals live and work.
Shangri-La professionals will choose community organizations that bring meaning to their lives and communities and contribute their time to service. The company employs over 230 people nationwide at 15 locations across Missouri, Illinois, Connecticut, and Ohio, and plans to open four more locations, hiring at least 130 more professionals in 2025.

Nevil Patel, Shangri-La’s CEO, said, “At Shangri-La, we want to build and maintain a culture of paying it forward. We are dedicated to improving people’s lives, not only by providing exceptional cannabis products and education but by giving back to our communities that we call home.”
Project Paradise formalizes a culture of volunteerism that has existed since Shangri-La was founded in 2019. The company has made partnering with community organizations a priority as it has expanded throughout the country, including providing funding and service to The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri, Plainville Community Pantry, Waterbury Promise, and other organizations.

Jocelyn Cerda, Shangri-La’s Director of Community Impact, said, “Giving back to our communities is a big part of who we are as people. Service brings everyone closer together, lifts our spirits, and improves all of our lives.”
