Bud & Mary’s encourages cannabis consumers to take part in physical activity study

Bud & Mary’s is supporting a new cannabis research survey, encouraging cannabis consumers to participate. The study, titled Testing Responses to Exercise After Dispensary cannabis use (TREAD), is designed to examine how cannabis use may influence the experience of physical activity.

The research focuses on individuals who use cannabis regularly but report low levels of physical activity. Participants will complete two separate two-mile walks, one without cannabis use and one after self-administered cannabis consumption, while tracking their physical and emotional responses.

Conducted entirely online, the study aims to explore whether and how cannabis impacts motivation, enjoyment, and perception of exercise. Participants who complete all study requirements will receive up to $85 in compensation.

To determine eligibility, prospective participants must complete a 5–10 minute survey covering topics such as cannabis use patterns and medical history. Some questions may be personal in nature, but answering is voluntary. Information collected will be kept confidential, and participants may skip any question that makes them uncomfortable. However, skipping questions may limit the research team’s ability to determine eligibility.

If deemed eligible, participants will be contacted by a member of the research team. Those who do not qualify will have their responses stored without any identifying information.
