Current Cannabis to open Oakville dispensary

Current Cannabis will open its first dispensary in Oakville on Monday, June 30.

The store, located at 4455 Telegraph Rd. in south St. Louis County, marks the retail debut for the company, which operates as the consumer-facing arm of Teal.

Founded by Adolphus A. Busch V, Teal has built a presence in Missouri through its manufacturing operations and branded cannabis products. The move into retail reflects a broader effort by the company to establish a vertically integrated footprint in the state’s legal marijuana market.

According to Dallas Henderson, marketing manager for Teal, the Oakville location will open at 8 a.m. on Monday and operate from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. The dispensary will be closed on July 4. A formal grand opening celebration is scheduled for later in July, with details to be announced on the company’s website and social media channels.

The company said the name “Current” draws inspiration from the rivers and waterheads of the state, including the Current River, referencing both natural movement and the brand’s goal of staying up to date with trends in cannabis. The dispensary aims to offer a personalized, approachable experience for both new and experienced consumers.

Current has emphasized values including quality, integrity, accessibility, and authenticity – part of abiding by those values is in creating a warm and thoughtful environment. As such, staff at the Oakville location will offer customer support and education in a setting designed to be welcoming and community-focused.

The Oakville Current Cannabis dispensary marks the company’s first retail location in Missouri.
