Metrc update allows decimal dosing entries for Missouri cannabis licensees

Metrc update allows decimal dosing entries for Missouri cannabis licensees

The Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) has announced a new system update in collaboration with Metrc, enabling decimal inputs in the “Number of Doses” field during item creation. The update, implemented on June 3, 2025, follows feedback from licensees and ongoing work by DCR to streamline compliance procedures.

Previously, Metrc required whole number entries for the dosing field, limiting flexibility for certain product types. Now, licensees can enter decimal values to more accurately represent the number of doses in a marijuana product. For example, a 3.5-gram flower package with 1-gram doses can now be entered as 3.5 doses, reflecting the actual product configuration.

This change enhances accuracy and consistency for facilities reporting product data and supports operational clarity across Missouri’s regulated market.

Licensees who wish to update currently approved items with decimal dosing should contact their assigned Facility Specialist for assistance.

The guidance document titled Metrc Dosing Decimals – 6.3.25 is available on the Facility Communications and Guidance page. Additional technical support and information is available through the Metrc Bulletin Database, including Metrc Bulletin MO IB 0039, which outlines the implementation timeline and support options.

For further questions, facilities should continue to reach out to their assigned DCR Facility Specialist or utilize Metrc’s support infrastructure.
