Wana Brands Foundation partners with Kansas City Comets for Teddy Bear Toss and donation to Ronald McDonald House

The Wana Brands Foundation, the philanthropic arm of leading cannabis-infused edibles company Wana Brands, will host a Teddy Bear Toss, this Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Kansas City Comets game.

This heartwarming event is part of Wana Brands’ sponsorship of the Comets throughout the 2024-2025 season.

As part of its commitment to the community, the Wana Brands Foundation will donate $5 per teddy bear tossed onto the field during the game, with a donation cap of $5,000. All proceeds and collected teddy bears will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Kansas City, providing essential support for children and families in need.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or other stuffed animal to participate in the toss, which will take place during the match. The event will be held at Cable Dahmer Arena, located at 19100 E Valley View Pkwy, Independence, MO, with a game time of 6:00 PM.

The Teddy Bear Toss is just one component of Wana Brands’ season-long partnership with the Kansas City Comets, covering 12 home games and key matchups such as the highly anticipated i70 Series. Through this sponsorship, Wana Brands aims to challenge the stigma surrounding cannabis in professional sports and raise awareness about its potential benefits for recovery, stress management, and overall well-being.

“Our partnership with the KC Comets helps us drive forward Wana’s mission of enhancing people’s lives and being of service to our communities. Despite compelling research around the benefits of cannabis as a therapeutic and sports recovery tool, many professional sporting organizations continue to prohibit its use, even off the field. The Comets’ decision to partner with us is a groundbreaking rejection of this outdated stigma, and our partnership gives us a platform to empower for research-backed education and outreach. Our goal is to empower Kansas City’s 21+ community to explore all the potential benefits of this plant, from recreation to sports recovery to better sleep and beyond,” said Daniel Dwiggins, National Senior Director of Marketing at Wana Brands.

Founded in December 2021, the Wana Brands Foundation has donated over $6 million to more than 150 nonprofit organizations. Its philanthropic efforts focus on critical areas such as research and education, food security, shelter, mental health, sustainability, community connection, and social justice.
