Women to Watch: Courtney Chapman
Courtney Chapman has spent over 12 years as a dedicated storyteller in the dynamic world of marketing, helping businesses create moments that resonate with people in meaningful ways. Her career has been defined by a passion for watching brands grow and thrive through the thoughtful strategies she designs. She excels in weaving marketing into everyday life, crafting moments that leave a lasting impact on people.
Her work in the cannabis industry showcases her ability to elevate connections, bringing innovation, authenticity, and a sense of fun to a rapidly evolving space that touches lives in profound ways. By blending creativity, strategy, and purpose, Chapman has consistently delivered results that are not only effective but also deeply impactful. It’s this unique ability that defines her and fuels her pride in the work she does every day.
“Admittedly, I’m not a daily consumer—I grew up and still have severe asthma, and my parents were firmly against anything that involved smoke. But when cannabis became legal, I discovered edibles and fell in love with how they offer a way to consume without smoking. I’ve also come to appreciate the diverse effects they provide. Good Taste’s edibles, in particular, make the experience even better, blending amazing flavors with an elevated experience.”
Chapman didn’t expect to find herself in the cannabis industry but life has a funny way of surprising you. What started as a daunting step into the unknown quickly turned into one of the most rewarding chapters of her career.
After years in the hustle of agency life, Chapman knew she wanted to put her marketing skills toward something that truly mattered. The turning point came when she saw firsthand how cannabis helped her family during a tough battle with cancer. That experience shifted her perspective and got her thinking: maybe this was where she could make a real difference.
A few conversations with a marketing director later, she found herself diving in with High Fidelity and Good Taste. Since then, she’s seen just how much cannabis can improve lives and has become passionate about the industry’s potential. Now, Chapman’s proud to be part of a team that’s shaking up the space and helping redefine what cannabis can do.
What is your favorite thing about the company?
“My favorite thing about Good Taste Edibles and High Fidelity Brands is their unwavering commitment to creativity, quality, and innovation. The team’s passion for crafting exceptional, flavor-driven products is evident in everything they do, from the initial concept to the final product. What I also appreciate is how our sustainability practices at the Daybreak grow and its influence on the manufacturing process. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of a company that integrates thoughtful, sustainable practices into every step, ensuring that our products are both exceptional and responsibly crafted.”
She has her hand in many pots at High Fidelity Brands, working across three of its verticals: Good Taste Edibles, Daybreak Cannabis, and Pinpoint Extracts. Her day-to-day includes managing social media, product development, marketing campaigns, educational initiatives, paid media, and community outreach. One of her standout achievements? The recent Blackberry Yuzu mega-dosed campaign.
Thanks to her marketing expertise—spanning social media, SEO, and Google rankings—the gummy became one of the highest-selling in Missouri. For Chapman, seeing the direct impact of her efforts is what makes the job so rewarding.
When it comes to advice for women looking to break into the cannabis industry, she’s all about owning your unique perspective and trusting your instincts. “This is an industry built on innovation and change,” she says. “Your passion and fresh ideas can make a real difference.” She encourages women to take risks, ditch traditional norms, and lean into what makes them stand out.
Finding mentors is another key piece of her advice. She credits Lindsay Hof as an incredible mentor who’s taught her so much about the industry. “She’s been amazing to work with,” Chapman shares. Her final piece of wisdom? Carve your own path, trust that you belong, and go after it with confidence.
What are some ways Missouri has gone above and beyond for women in the cannabis industry?
“There’s a strong emphasis on encouraging women in leadership roles, with many opportunities for women to thrive. What stands out is the sense of collaboration among women in the industry—there’s a genuine effort to uplift and mentor one another. This community-driven approach allows women to not only have a seat at the table but also actively shape the future of cannabis in the state.”
Finally, what are some ways the industry could improve its relationship with minorities and women?
“The cannabis industry can improve its relationship with minorities and women by focusing on mentorship programs and providing opportunities for education. Fostering an inclusive culture is key, where all individuals feel valued and respected. By creating mentorship opportunities and promoting diversity in leadership, the industry can ensure that everyone has the chance to succeed and thrive, paving the way for long-term growth and innovation.”
