Harrison Bard, CEO of Custom Cones USA, explained how DaySavers is meeting the demand for safe and reliable rolling papers, blunt wraps, and other smoking accessories. “We were shocked to learn rolling papers and smoking accessories weren’t regulated like cannabis or tobacco,” Bard said. “We started rigorously testing all of our rolling papers, blunt wraps, and everything for heavy metals, pesticides, and microbials. We found tons of products that were failing tests.”

A focus on safety and reliability

The absence of regulation for smoking accessories led DaySavers to prioritize rigorous testing. Bard explained how this gap in oversight motivated the company to ensure its products meet the same standards as cannabis. “We rigorously test all of our rolling papers, blunt wraps, and everything for contaminants,” Bard said. “There wasn’t anyone in the market giving consumers a safe and reliable smoking accessories company holding products accountable to the same testing standards as cannabis itself.”

DaySavers’ commitment to transparency and quality is designed to give consumers peace of mind. “Flower is the number one category that people are consuming, but they’re not just consuming flower on its own,” Bard noted. “They’re using devices, rolling papers, or blunt wraps. DaySavers fills that gap for the consumer.”

Innovation has been a key driver of DaySavers’ growth. Bard highlighted several unique products that set the brand apart, including hemp wraps with glass, ceramic, and wood tips, as well as flavored tips. “We’re always looking for what’s new, what’s better, and what creates a more elevated smoking experience for the consumer,” Bard said.

One of the brand’s most exciting upcoming releases involves botanical blunt wraps made from natural ingredients such as lavender, chamomile, and lemongrass. “We’re launching a program where consumers can test botanical blunt wraps made from real materials,” Bard said. “They naturally enhance the smoking experience by adding floral or herbal notes that pair with cannabis.”

DaySavers also stands out with its Cones for a Cause line, which combines functionality with social responsibility. “We have cones branded with themes, like a rainbow flag tip where we donate 10% of proceeds to LGBTQ charities,” Bard said. “We also have an American flag tip, and we donate to veterans. DaySavers recently secured a partnership with Urban Outfitters, which now sells its smoking accessories in the lifestyle section of its website. “Urban Outfitters picked us up because they loved the branding, packaging, and compliance focus,” Bard said. “It really helped legitimize DaySavers and gave other retailers confidence to stock the product.”

Standing out in a crowded market

Competing against decades-old brands like Zig Zag and Raw presents a challenge, but DaySavers has differentiated itself through its focus on cannabis consumers. “A lot of the companies in the market today are tobacco-focused,” Bard explained. “They don’t understand cannabis consumers. And they market things like ‘rice paper,’ which isn’t even a real material.”

Instead, DaySavers appeals to cannabis enthusiasts by offering innovative products tailored to their needs. “Our artisan tubes have spiral tips and unique shapes that go way beyond a standard cone,” Bard said. “We’re not trying to compete with the same stuff everyone else is doing. We want to create something new and exciting.”

As DaySavers continues to grow, Bard remains focused on delivering high-quality products that align with consumer values. “We’re bringing all the innovations we’ve developed on the B2B side directly to consumers,” Bard said. “Once people know and trust our brand, they’ll see the difference in quality and safety compared to other options on the market.”
