Vivid named Best of the Industry in 2023
Many of Missouri’s cannabis companies and brands grew in 2022, but perhaps none so much as Show-Me Organics. The banner brand, Vivid continued to garner recognition for its extracts and launched a one-of-a-kind promotion offering patients the opportunity to procure giant diamonds at partner dispensaries around the state. Show-Me Organics also acquired a cultivation license, launching Vivid flower into the Missouri marijuana market, just ahead of adult use sales. Meanwhile, the company’s successes stacked up as they launched one of the market’s first value brands in Buoyant Bob and released a slew of new products under the Missouri’s Own Edibles name, including the award-winning collaboration with Old Vienna, Missouri’ Own EdiblesTwice- Baked Red Hot Riplets. In all, the Vivid family of brands brought home three awards in manufacturing categories for Best of the Industry 2023, being named Best Tincture for Vivid Goodnight Grape Tincture 1:1, Best Capsule for the Vivid Dream Capsules, and Best Edible Baked Goods for the Missouri’s Own Edibles Twice Baked Red Hot Riplets.
Greenway spoke to Tony Billmeyer, Chief Marketing Officer at Show-Me Organics about how the company grew in 2022 and what lies ahead for one of the state’s most successful diversified lines models.
“2022 was a pivotal year for Show-Me Organics as it solidified our house of brands with the introduction of our edibles line, Missouri’s Own, and value brand, Buoyant Bob. Missouri’s Own garnered attention and acclaim for its innovative partnerships with locally loved brands, while Vivid and Buoyant Bob became established as market-leading brands with the introduction of top-shelf flower following our acquisition of a state-of-the-art cultivation and manufacturing facility from Holistic Industries,” Billmeyer explained
What about your company differentiates you from others in Missouri, and generally speaking?
Our team is deeply rooted in Missouri, but our goal is to push boundaries for the cannabis industry at large. We have a unique combination of cannabis knowledge, business savvy, and scientific rigor; which allows us to effectively translate market opportunities into innovative products for customers.
What endears your company to patients and others in the industry?
We’re not only listening to what patients and customers want, but we’re actively working to invent new products that elevate cannabis experiences for everyone. Partnerships between Missouri’s Own and local non-THC brands demonstrate how we can leverage our local roots to destigmatize cannabis locally, and expand the reach of our brands nationally with earned media.
With the launch of adult use, how do you intend to stay competitive as the Missouri market continues to grow?
Show-Me Organics will stay true to who we are and continue to innovate on behalf of customers. That innovation now expands into new strains of flower for Vivid and Buoyant Bob, and digital tools like GreenFrame will push cannabis education forward.
What does the legalization of marijuana for adult use mean for your company?
The timing of legalization was fortuitous for Show-Me Organics, with legislation passing just one week after we closed on our cultivation and manufacturing facility in Kansas City.
Momentum behind the launch of flower for Vivid and Buoyant Bob carried into the opening of our rec market, positioning SMO to capitalize on the industry’s growth.

One critical addition to our team in 2022 was our Director of Cultivation, Kerrin Wuchter.
Our ability to consistently grow each strain to the highest quality derives from Kerrin’s masterful organization, passion for the plants, and data-driven approach. She shares our team’s drive to constantly improve and desire to operate on the forefront of cannabis innovation.
What can you tell readers about the company’s community involvement?
Acceptance of cannabis consumption at public events is going to be an important tool in our battle to destigmatize cannabis. We were proud to throw the first legal, public consumption event in for “Buoyant Bob’s Rec Rave and Record Release” in St. Louis on February 6th—the supposed first day of rec sales. We will continue to push for mainstream events to consider onsite consumption, while supporting or sponsoring events that do welcome consumption.
Blue Sage continues to support local community and veterans organizations in Lebanon and Carthage.
What plans are on the horizon for the company?
We aim to elevate Vivid from a leader in the Missouri market to a leader in cannabis innovation globally. Vivid is focused on delivering enhanced education and cannabis experiences, while Buoyant Bob offers “the best bud for your buck,” and Missouri’s Own continues to make locals proud with new partnerships and products.
