Narwhal’s Crafted and Honeybee Edibles partner for limited edition frozen cocktail
The “Honeybee Spritz” will feature flavors inspired by Honeybee Edibles’ Grapefruit Calamansi Gumdrops.
Honeybee Edibles, the THC-infused edible line from Proper Brands, based in St. Louis, and Narwhal’s Crafted are excited to collaborate on a one-of-a-kind frozen cocktail. Aptly named “The Honeybee Spritz,” it features flavors inspired by Honeybee’s Grapefruit Calamansi Lime gumdrops.
The cocktail features champagne, silver tequila, Aperol, Grapefruit and Calamansi Puree, and finished with a Lemon Thyme Honey Syrup. While the cocktail won’t have any THC, the psychoactive component of cannabis, it will feature the real fruit puree that is used in the gumdrops.
“We don’t use any artificial flavors—they’re all real fruit purees sourced from around the world. I’ve been wanting to use Calamansi Lime for a long time; it’s intensely sweet, pleasantly tart, and has a unique flavor of lime mixed with lemon,” said Chef Owens. “This collaboration with Narwhal’s gives us the opportunity to let people who aren’t patients try one of Honeybee’s signature flavors.”
Starting on Thursday, September 8, the cocktail will be available at both Narwhal’s Midtown and St. Charles locations while supplies last. Narwhal’s frozen cocktails will also be available for purchase during both days of Music at the Intersection. The Honeybee crew will be on hand in the Mural Walk Market of the festival serving up complimentary samples of the Honeybee Spritz to festival attendees.
“When Proper reached out to us to gauge interest in possibly doing a collab cocktail for the upcoming Music at the Intersection festival – we were immediately interested, as they have always been a local brand we have really respected and thought highly of. Obviously, we couldn’t use cannabis, but they introduced us to some new and interesting flavors. Narwhal’s has never used Calamansi Lime in our cocktails before—it was a perfect mix of lime, lemon, and orange,” said Narwhal’s Brad Merten.
“We thought it would be proper to mark the end of summer with a spritz; the Honeybee Spritz is a familiar yet unique take on an Aperol Spritz that highlights the calamansi lime by perfectly balancing the sweetness and tartness of the drink – and then of course, we had to also freeze it.”
