Cannabis Care Team and COCO Dispensaries present Cannabis Bootcamp

COLUMBIA, MISSOURI – Cannabis Care Team and COCO announced yesterday that they will host a Cannabis Bootcamp – Breaking Into the Industry on Saturday, June 12 at the University of Missouri Hampton Inn location.  The event will feature multiple modules including Cannabis 101, Budtender Training, and Patient Care. This will be the first event of its kind in Missouri with educators and operators partnering to provide resources to patients and hopeful potential cannabis industry candidates.

COCO CEO Brooke Foster said, “COCO Dispensaries is so excited to collaborate with the experts from the Cannabis Care Team on this informative and important industry event.  As the cannabis industry matures, it is vital to have everyday working knowledge to help the Missouri patients and also to become a valued team member of your company.  Excellent customer service skills along with a baseline knowledge of the endocannabinoid system are the keys to success.  COCO and the Cannabis Care Team can help get you on the path to your career in Missouri cannabis by providing you these essential skills.”

COCO’s own dispensary staff at each location is trained by the Cannabis Care Team, clinicians who have been providing dispensary training for employees in multiple dispensary locations in Missouri and Oklahoma.  CCT’s training incorporates the importance of not providing medical advice to patients, but instead how to best serve patients with education about the plant’s anatomy and potential therapeutic benefits.

We never thought we would be teaching front-line dispensary staff about cannabis, but after working with hundreds of patients and speaking with many budtenders we saw there was a need and a desire for this education. We worked very hard on putting together an evidence-based medical cannabis course that arms the attendees with the knowledge and confidence they need to help their customers heal. Our goal is to help the industry help patients and were honored that COCO saw the value in our course and wanted to help us offer it to the general public. We typically train those who have already landed a job in the industry and were hoping this training will help those who are still looking.” said April Hatch RN, MSNabout the partnership.
