Flavored infusions for smokers

Cannabis tech is continually evolving and sometimes the innovations are exciting, while others have us scratching our heads.  A few months back, we had shared a concept we read about in which water pipes or bongs could be filled with alternative liquids, like fruit juice or mouthwash.  It seems the folks at Phaedhaus have taken that concept a step further.

Greenway received an item in our feed that touted the ability to “infuse your hits with any natural ingredients under the sun.”  The marketing for this device isn’t necessarily calling it a new product inasmuch as using old technology in a new way.

The email advertisement provides multiple “combinations of aromatics” that users can drop into the bottom chamber of the pipe and enjoy “intense, aromatic flavors to enhance your experience.”  A sampling of the recommendations include a citrus paradise, which combines lemon slices, orange juice, and fresh tangerines – optional add-ins include limes, kiwi, or coconut shavings.  Other suggested mixtures?  Users are told to boil cinnamon, allspice, and cloves then cool prior to putting into the chamber.  While these are all tasty-sounding ideas, do they really change the experience?  Is the smoke actually flavored or infused?

Cannabis research has been mostly anecdotal for so many years that we were unable to find any evidence-based confirmation that users would/could experience an elevated experience by adding these items to a water pipe, but given the terpene profile of many fruits if there is a way to increase the ability for patients to get additional benefits, then we’re fans for sure.
