PrestoDoctor: Best Telehealth Site of 2019
PrestoDoctor is an online telemedicine service that has helped over 50,000 patients across the country get their medical marijuana cards. PrestoDoctor was founded in California in early 2015 and has since expanded to Nevada, New York, Oklahoma, and, most recently, Missouri.
PrestoDoctor was voted Missouri’s best telehealth site by Greenway’s readers. Greenway spoke with co-founders Kyle Powers (pictured) and Rob Tankson to learn more about why patients love using their service.
After getting his own medical marijuana card on a beach in California, Tankson began thinking about how he could make the experience of seeing a cannabis doctor more comfortable for patients like his Midwestern mother and grandma. With Powers and Tankson both having backgrounds in the technology industry, they decided to use telemedicine to create a uniquely professional and safe experience for medical marijuana patients.
With PrestoDoctor, patients are able to visit with a cannabis-informed doctor via video-chat from the comfort of their own home via a smartphone, tablet, or computer during a quick 10-minute appointment any time between 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. In addition, their hand-picked and experienced doctors provide customized treatment plans for every patient, including things like product and dosage recommendations, general learning information for first-time medical patients, and more. They even offer free, unlimited follow-up appointments for their patients.
Despite their challenges around an inability to advertise anywhere online, they have had huge success with word-of-mouth recommendations from satisfied patients.
