Mandatory meetings mark last hurdle before inspection schedulings

Those who have been awarded licenses are required to attend a Facility License & Compliance Welcome Meeting in Jefferson City at the DoubleTree in order to correctly kick off Missouri’s medical program.

The meeting will be conducted by DHSS, and all licensed facilities – testing, cultivation, manufacturing, dispensaries, and transportation – must be in attendance. Each license or certified facility is allowed to register up to two people for the meeting due to space.

Transportation, manufacturing, cultivation, and testing facilities will have their meeting on March 4, while dispensaries will have their meeting on March 5. Each meeting will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m.

Facilities must attend the meetings prior to attempting to schedule commencement inspections. Notice was sent to facility contacts about the meetings on January 21, 2020, from DHSS Medical Marijuana Program Facility License & Compliance Director Andrea Balkenbush. Each facility has been assigned to a case manager to work with regarding compliance and state license relations.

So far, the Greenway team only knows of a handful of licensees immediately prepared for their commencement inspections. Each facility must be inspected prior to becoming operational – from planting any seed to opening for retail operations.

The meeting is not open to the public.
