Medical marijuana explored at banking conference
In an effort to foster positive dialogue between the Missouri Independent Bankers Association, bank owners, and MoCannTrade, a panel of experts was assembled to discuss the challenges and opportunities of normalized banking services for medical marijuana businesses. Utilizing an open, round table format, Missouri state marijuana and banking regulators, bank compliance experts, and former bank VPs who have successfully banked MRBs provided context and answered questions from the MIBA board of directors at a recent MIBA meeting.
The panel was moderated by Armstrong Teasdale partner Paul Cambridge. On the Panel were Tom Lorenz of Avenir, former MIBA Bank EVP and banking industry consultant Stan Rubbelke, Medical Marijuana Program Director Lyndall Fraker, Missouri Division of Finance Bank Examiner Bart Stanley, and former Illinois Bank Vice President Peter Graham.
MoCannTrade is excited for the preliminary success of the conversations and is also looking forward to participating in this conversation again at the MIBA’s Annual Conference on Sept 9-11 with their full membership and state-chartered bank industry leadership.
