FDA will speak at NIHC 2019 Hemp Business Summit
This week the National Industrial Hemp Council announced that Lowell Schiller, FDA’s principal associate commissioner for policy, will serve as a keynote speaker at the National Industrial Hemp Council’s 2019 Business Summit.
The meeting, to be held August 12-13, in Portland, OR, will be the first public appearance and presentation by the agency’s presiding board since the FDA’s May 31st hearing on hemp and hemp products.
Schiller is responsible for the overall leadership of FDA’s Office of Policy, which manages and oversees the development process of regulations and agency guidance for implementation on policy issues, including hemp.
In addition to Schiller, the summit will feature several sessions and presentations, including a discussion from American Bankers Association ‘s Ed Elfmannon, , senior vice president, agricultural and rural banking policy.
