Missouri marijuana sales see seasonal rebound in October

Missouri marijuana sales bounced back in October following September’s seasonal dip.

Licensed marijuana retailers reported $127.63 million in total sales for the month, an increase of $8.72 million compared to September’s $118.91 million.

Adult use sales accounted for $113.43 million, while medical marijuana contributed $14.2 million.

The daily average for October reached approximately $4.12 million in combined sales, up from $3.96 million in September. Adult use purchases averaged about $3.66 million per day, while medical sales came in around $458,000 per day.

Sales growth has remained steady throughout the year, with adult use making up roughly nearly 89% of total marijuana sales statewide.

Compared to October 2024, sales increased by $4.38 million, or about 3.6 percent. Compared to October 2023, sales were up $14.53 million, a 12.8 percent gain over two years. Adult use sales now account for a slightly larger share of the market than in previous years, up from 88 percent in 2024, while medical sales continue to decline gradually as patients transition to the recreational market.

October’s results also reflect a return to seasonal form. Sales dipped in September, as they did in both 2023 and 2024, before rebounding in October. The pattern suggests steady consumer behavior and reinforces the state’s stable demand.

The daily average for October was slightly higher than in the same month last year, which recorded about $3.98 million per day. That consistency highlights how Missouri’s market continues top grow as it maures.

While 2025 has outperformed 2024 every month so far, the rate of growth has narrowed since mid-summer, indicating a market that is leveling after two years of sharp expansion. Even so, Missouri remains one of the most consistent and high-performing marijuana markets in the country.
