High Scores: Florida Purple by AMAZE Cannabis
Humans are creatures of habit. We enjoy going to the same stores, food places, and shopping for certain brands that have caught our attention. Sometimes a product may intrigue us enough to stray away from our usual patterns and branch out. Sometimes you may decide you like the breakfast at your favorite restaurant better than your new trial, but sometimes you find the gem that you only tell your close friends about and savor in the delicious flavors of your NEW favorite.
From a cannabis consumer perspective, after I find a product I like, I keep it consistent in the rotation. I tend to try new products or brands at about the same rate I keep the favorites rolling through. My reasoning is that knowing I have the consistency of a certain brand or product, I have the courage to branch out and try all the new flavors available from all of the wonderful Missouri brands. If I try a product that doesn’t do it for me, I don’t discard the whole company, although it may deter me from purchasing that particular product again.
I came across a new product from Amaze Cannabis, while shopping at Green Releaf. They had just released a new line of Live Hash Rosin which is my preferred concentrate to blaze. It didn’t take much convincing for me to grab a couple grams to try out. I chose to review Florida Purple, although I also tried Cookie Dos and was a massive fan of both. Florida Purple is a cross between Florida Orange x Purple Punch. It’s known to have fruit soda like terps and is a Sativa leaner. I love the citrus flavor that is transferred by rosin so I was all in on this one.
I opened the box to find a well-informed and easy-to-maneuver jar, I was giddy with excitement as I opened the jar. The product was a very light color with a bit of an orange/amber tinge and was very terpy. (Sometimes a more viscous pool of clear liquid can appear at the bottom of the rosin glob.) The smell hit me in the face immediately and I was floored. It (straight up) smelled like orange soda from my childhood. I started to salivate as I plunged the dabber in to get started on my first dab. As always I use a puffco-style e-rig and I clean it before every review.
- Visual Appearance Score 9 This product was a beautiful orange/amber color very pretty with a small pool of terps.
- Smell/Aroma Score 9 The citrus and cream that I got from the smell was very exciting and appetizing.
- Consistency Score 10 I loved the small amount of terp layer, it got me very excited and the product was very stable otherwise. It was workable and exactly what I look for with rosin.
As the rig heated up and I could smell the orange sherbet cream goodness in the air I knew it was time to take a big inhale. After a massive dab I exhaled a giant cloud and there was no harshness at all! My taste buds were titillated with orange cream soda or maybe an orange cream candy that I had as a child, very unique and enjoyable. The flavor continued to bellow in my mouth for what made me wonder if this is what heaven feels like.
- Moisture/Solvent Score 10 There was no presence of excess moisture or solvent. No crackling as the product heated.
- Initial Flavor Score 10 The flavor was undeniable. It was citrus that didn’t follow the usual Tangie or Clementine flavor profile. I was floored with the taste.
- Harshness Score 10 There was no harshness and that led to going through the product very quickly chasing that delicious flavor.
- Exhale Flavor Score 10 I didn’t think the flavor would ever end.
As I was licking my lips, it hit me. Like a ton of bricks on my head I was couch locked. Sativa’s will often have an initial sedating effect for me depending on what time of day I use them. In the morning I will be energized and in the evening sedated. This was the perfect result for me, it was euphoric and happy. I spent the next hour or so enjoying tv before I went to bed. The next morning, I went to town on the sample, I blew through the entire gram in about 14 hours and was on my way to grab another. It was an incredible experience and for a first release I could not have been more impressed.
- Potency Score 9 This product was very strong, I could not stop smoking it and somehow maintained some level of functionality.
- Effect Score 10 The euphoric happy effect of this product will make you grab for it in almost every situation. It’s definitely an all-time favorite.
- Repeat Excitement Score 10 I have literally already purchased more and would suggest this product to every seasoned cannabis user.
