DHSS releases draft rule revisions for Missouri dispensaries

On April 22, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Section for Medical Marijuana Regulation released new draft rules or proposed rule amendments for licensed medical marijuana dispensary operations in Missouri.

The drafts update the language of 19 CSR 30-95.080 Dispensary Facilities. Public feedback will be accepted until 5-2-2022.

Included in the updates are additional language for signage at point-of-sale that would require the display of the following warnings:

  • Vaping and smoking have been associated with cases of severe lung injury, leading to
    difficulty breathing, hospitalization, and even death;
  • Edible medical marijuana products were produced in facilities that may also process
    common food allergens; and
  • It is against the law to operate a dangerous device, motor vehicle, aircraft, or motorboat
    while under the influence of medical marijuana.

The revisions also remove a proposed rule that would have restricted the sale of “any product that contains cannabinoids created through chemical conversion of other compounds,” and create guidelines for the display and use of “samples.”
