Missouri surpasses 160k active medical marijuana patients

According to patient statistics released Monday by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Section for Medical Marijuana Regulation, Missouri’s patient count now exceeds 160,000 active patients. Additionally, the state now lists over 3,000 caregivers as well, and of 160, 056 active patients, over 28,000 are approved to grow their own medical marijuana.

Of the 160,000+ active patients, 53,639 are renewals. Roughly 66 percent of Missouri’s active patients have had their medical marijuana cards for less than a year, which bodes well heading into 2022.

In addition to the rising patient count – Missouri now boasts more than 6,000 licensed agents in the state.

In November, Missouri medical marijuana dispensaries set another sales record, marking seven straight months of retail revenue growth while climbing 7.36% over the prior month.

In early December, the Department announced the state had exceeded the $200 million mark in cumulative sales.

Missouri now hosts 181 dispensaries approved to operate. 58 manufacturing licenses and 41 cultivation licenses have also been given approval to operate at this point.

The state also houses 20 licensed and commenced transportation companies and 8 laboratory testing facilities that are approved to operate.
