Draft rule would ban clone sales to patients

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has a new set of draft rules pertaining to dispensaries, including rules on drive-throughs, delivery, and plant sales.

Many dispensaries planned to offer for sale clones, as well as seeds. The new draft rule would prohibit any plant sale direct-to-consumer except for seeds, which must be acquired from a grow house.

“Dispensary facilities shall only sell medical marijuana seeds acquired from cultivation facilities and may not sell medical marijuana plants at any stage of development…”

The plant sale rule caused social media outcry from advocates and licensees alike.

It is not known who or what motivated the language. No trade group has taken a position on plant sales.
